Welcome to New Mexico Dogs Deserve Better!

We are an all-volunteer, 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to helping chained/penned dogs throughout the state of New Mexico and beyond. We also extended our New Mexico outreach to include the many other desperate situations dogs find themselves in through no fault of their own. Our focus is on education, community outreach, rescue, rehabilitation, adoption, and networking… all for the LOVE of DOG! Read more about us.

Walter

Super-adorable WALTER is looking for forever. Walter is a six year old mini-dachshund. He is crate-trained and house-trained. He’s a total sweetheart who loves to be the center of attention! Volunteers Needed for Car Show Event!

Now is the time to COME TOGETHER for the DOGS like never before ♥ WE NEED YOU to make our BARKIN BAD Car Show on Saturday, May 18th at the Unser Racing Museum in Albuquerque a smashing success! This is the first event of this magnitude that we have taken on & we need 50 volunteers to participate for the day in various important roles! All volunteers will be provided a coupon for lunch, beverages throughout the day, a surprise NMDDB goodie, a BARKIN BAD volunteer T-shirt, a heart fulfilled knowing you made a difference & one HECK of a good time ♥ PLEASE SIGN UP TODAY!!!…the DOGS are counting on it!

Fosters Needed

NMDDB does not have a shelter facility and relies 100% on foster homes. We are currently very short on foster families, which means that some of our dogs are in boarding — less than ideal for them and costing us a lot of money… Please consider becoming a foster parent and a part of our rescue family TODAY!
