Welcome to New Mexico Dogs Deserve Better!

We are an all-volunteer, 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to helping chained/penned dogs throughout the state of New Mexico and beyond. We also extended our New Mexico outreach to include the many other desperate situations dogs find themselves in through no fault of their own. Our focus is on education, community outreach, rescue, rehabilitation, adoption, and networking… all for the LOVE of DOG! Read more about us.

Shep Needs a Foster Home!

Shepsm
This sweet boy has been in medical boarding for far too long. He is Heartworm positive and undergoing treatment. If you have a calm, quiet household with no other dogs or with a mellow older kid, and want to provide him a home in which to get well, send us an email at foster@nmddb.org! Shep is counting on it…

A Picture to Make You Smile!

Angela and SheriffWe held an informal photo shoot for some of our kiddos in boarding. Thank you to NMDDB foster mom, volunteer & SUPER talented photographer, Helga!!! Pictured here are Angela Stell and Sheriff, one of our wonderful dogs available for adoption.

Donations Needed

Casey Jones when foundNMDDB Village: we are seriously short on funds. Please consider making a donation today to help us pay for the care of dogs like our Casey Jones. Every little bit will help!!!

Fashionable Pitties!

Our pitties went in for a fancy photo-shoot and came out looking like rockstars! The good news is, they are all available for adoption!!

Many, many thanks to Photographer Sean Weaver who selflessly donated his time and talents to this pittie-project!

Moviestar Dogs

We have videos of several of our NMDDB dogs available for adoption (thanks to NMDDB Villager Dylan Orbesen!). Check out Junebug and Moo Moo!

Fosters Needed

NMDDB does not have a shelter facility and relies 100% on foster homes. We are currently very short on foster families, which means that some of our dogs are in boarding — less than ideal for them and costing us a lot of money… Please consider becoming a foster parent and a part of our rescue family TODAY!
